The Georgia Games, sponsored by the Georgia Sports
Foundation, are going into their 19th year and continue to be a
success with the help of our community and the hard work of
the Georgia Games’ staff.
The Georgia State Games and the Georgia Sports Foundation
continue to be the only entities with a statewide focus that are
specifically designed to develop, promote and educate the
sector of amateur sports, physical fitness and health.
The Georgia Games will continue to offer favorites such as track & field, badminton and both men’s and women’s basketball.
New events such as fencing and water polo will be introduced.
There are over 40 events going on this summer so Georgia athletes
are bound to find an event that suits them.
Most events are scheduled from June 13, 2009 – July 25, 2009
in the greater Atlanta area.
Not an athlete? Not a problem. The Georgia Games would not
be able to go on without the help of volunteers. Volunteers are
needed for almost every event.
